Rugby Environmental was founded in June 2005 by current project manager Perry Pence, a licensed and accredited worker in the environmental industry since 1993. Founded in Richmond, VA, Rugby Environmental was permanently relocated to Southwest Virginia in July 2006. Since its founding, Rugby Environmental has been committed to a philosophy of providing professional-quality work at a reasonable price and maintaining a personal connection to its clients throughout the process.
Project manager Perry Pence has been a licensed and accredited environmental worker since 1993. Before Rugby Environmental was founded, Perry's employers included Tracor Technology Resources (Charleston, WV), Roche Analytics (Richmond, VA), Azimuth, Inc. (Wilmington, NC; Main Office in Charleston, SC), LabCorp Analytics (Wilmington, NC), the Wilmington, NC, Housing Authority, and Abatement Monitoring and Inspection Services (Richmond, VA).
Born and raised in the Charleston, WV area, Perry holds a bachelor's degree from West Virginia State College and has earned graduate credit from Marshall University and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Perry currently lives in Roanoke, VA, with his wife Bridgette, son Tyler, and pug Ollie Leroux Pence.
Perry enjoys golfing and has also been involved with the sport of rugby union since he started playing while studying at Marshall. Perry has played rugby union for Marshall University, the Charleston (WV) Rugby Club, the Richmond (VA) Rugby Football Club, and the Cape Fear (NC) Rugby Football Club, and has served as a coach at the Cape Fear Rugby Football Club, the Virginia Tech Men's Rugby Football Club, and the Blacksburg (VA) Rugby Football Club.
